We visited the Speak Easy this weekend and it was fabulous. The pizza was delicious and the drinks were great. We showed up without a reservation but they fit us in. You need the password from their social media. The music and atmosphere was enjoyable.

Was looking forward to seeing the renovations. Very cute theme of 1920 speak easy. Extensive cocktail menu and quite limited food options. What we tried was good but not the hoped for Valentines day special seen on Facebook. Service was okay but since it was not busy for lunch could have been better

We stopped by for their reopening as Grit City tasting room. We actually had never been to Grit City before this as we’re new to Medicine Hat. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and appreciated the commitment to the 1920’s Speak Easy aesthetic and vibe. Our drinks were top notch and priced reasonably. For food we shared the Pear compote , Prosciutto and Gorgonzola flat bread. It was flavourful and well balanced. I think that for a date night a visit to the Grit City, Speak Easy can’t be topped. Embrace the atmosphere and enjoy the cocktails. Make sure to get the password from their Facebook page.

Very comfortable booth & 4 of us enjoyed a delicious lunch. Excellent concept restaurant with many original items for purchase & gifting. Drinks included Smokey Cherry Old Fashioned,
2 Forbidden Fruit Gin & Tonic & a Root Beer Paralyzer. Entrees included the recommended Mini Yorkshire Sliders, Boursin & Bacon Burger, Grilled Caesar Salad w Chicken. Great atmosphere & manager Des provides excellent service. We shall return should the opportunity present itself & we’re back in The Hat.

You know how they say, when you go somewhere to eat, you shouldn’t order a fish dish from the pizza place? Well, I would say don’t order food from a distillery. They tried. It looked delicious, smelled great, but my husband had never had a tougher (cold) sirloin until he tried a bite of mine.
The pina colada fish bowl was decent, except for the two full glasses of ice that we had to scoop out, so it wouldn’t water it down so much.
But I was glad to see that they were supporting the local hot air balloon event. This was the reason we went. And our server was terrific.
