It’s a nice little lake in the city but very popular. I went on a Saturday to see the lake briefly on my way passed, and use the washroom, which was clean enough and stocked. I barely got a parking spot and it’s a bit tight for big vehicles.
They have rentals for paddle boats, and canoes I think. You cannot swim in the lake, and wouldn’t want to, for all the goose poop.
There are different ducks but Canada Geese frequent here and can be assertive and/or aggressive if people have been feeding them.
There’s a trail on the North side that goes passed the back of the Shadbolt center and Hart house. It’s a nice area but busy on weekends and in the evening when it’s nice.

Spent New Year’s Eve here with my husband. We had a great time. The food was really good and the hall was decorated pretty. We had a fun time dancing. We feel the DJ needs to learn how to transition songs better and to pick the right tempo of the new song so it doesn’t feel so mismatched, but really for the price we paid it was a great deal. The DJ did pick a variety of popular songs through out the decades so we enjoyed his selection. The dinner was great and the sandwiches before midnight were terrific. All in all we will for sure come again. A great night to be had for all.
Flower festival was busy but very well managed. Unbelievable selection of the daffodils. Lunch was good, had soup and sandwich. Nice display at the school as well . Great way to spend a very rainy day.
