I played Blue Ocean Golf in the morning in late July and then was free afterwards and wanted to give Sunshine Coast in the afternoon.
I was able to walk on as a solo (literally)…course had open tee times from 12 to 130 that I could pick and walk on…picked the 12:10 tee time…that courses front 9 reminds me of Fraserview and back 9 very mccleery like, very tight fairways in back 9 so more targeted golf
The locals noted that the busiest times for tee times is from 7 to 11 in the morning, and then pretty wide open until the twilight/afternoon rates start at 2pm, so I was a solo on, had a solo behind me catch up and we joined up…there was a pair in front of me that never did let us play through even though they were taking 5-10 minutes a shot….no player’s marshalls to call since it’s pretty empty anyways, but wish some folks had better golf etiquette to let people play through if you’re going to take forever to play (and it was not a playing lesson)…eventually the person clued in and let us play through after the 10th hole and then we caught up with a 2some, 3some and such…so wide range of available tee times for sure
I finished around 4 hour mark (which is normal for a foursome, but for a single person playing…definitely sucky but at least it was a sunny day)
The carts were only $21 a person even if you go out as a single on the cart which is equivalent to Blue Ocean. I enjoyed the course, good challenge, but I would prefer Blue Ocean first but glad to have played this course once
Course is always in fantastic condition, especially the greens no matter what the weather.
Everyone is very welcoming too
The pork belly was really delicious and flavorful, and the service from the staff was excellent.
We recently had our child’s birthday party here and the staff were incredible!! Straightforward to book with them via email. The day-of Rhona led our group through some quick tips at the driving range (including safety tips), providing extra clubs for kids without any. The kids were so engaged and had a great time. We moved to the clubhouse for lunch where the food and drinks were prepped and ready and the food and service staff were SO attentive and helpful. Through and through such a fab party and our kid was thrilled. Great value as well! (Side note: our child is also in the Jr. Golf program which has been great as well… the staff and volunteers really make it an accessible sport for kids to try out).
Honestly the best course to play on the sunshine coast. Carts are electric and powerful, fairways are clean, greens when I went were recently punched, sanded and grass was a bit long but other than that a great overall course.
