Dropped by Tool Shed for dinner tonight first thoughts was great Atmosphere and two pretty cool eating area’s to pick from. My wife had ordered the brisket and ribs with a side of waffles. I ordered the Backyard burger and chips? Lol. The burger tasted pretty good with the real bacon. Sad part is paying 21 bucks for a burger and three hand fulls of ripple chips? All I can say is I was thankful my wife likes to share. The pork back ribs were quite tasty… Are the Best in Calgary? That is up for debate. The cornbread waffles weren’t notice special and weren’t even warm. One thing I noticed during my visit there was a high pitch screening sounds every so often not sure if it was coming from the sound system or the oven door. Most definitely ruin the experience for me. The washrooms are even very well done and clean. I was happy to get wet naps but I think a tooth pick would also be a nice gesture too. Would I recommend Tool Shed BBq yes it’s a not to bad of spot to grab a bite to eat.

Cool BBQ place!

Had the chicken wings and burger with house chips.

Chicken wings were great! The sauce you get steps up the flavor big time!

Cheese burger was tasty. I added bacon and vegetables to it.

House made chips were good.

My sister let me try the bacon candy and brisket. They were delicious

On behalf of the Calgary Social Collective, operating as the Calgary Beer Enthusiasts, we had an outstanding experience at Tool Shed Brewing Company.
From start to finish, everything was excellent. The serving staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere for our entire group.
We also enjoyed some absolutely delicious BBQ, which paired perfectly with the beers and added to the overall experience. The atmosphere was upbeat, comfortable, and ideal for hosting a social group event.
A special thank you to Kayla for leading a fantastic brewery tour. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and took the time to thoroughly answer all of our questions. Her passion and expertise really elevated the experience for everyone.
We’re grateful for the hospitality and would love to bring another group back for a tour again in a few months. Highly recommend!

Always have such a great time at Toolshed! The food is INCREDIBLE! Best ribs in all of Calgary. Will never not recommend. Came in on a Sunday, swift and wonderful service, great beers, and a great foosball game on a HUGE screen! Thanks team!

The Tool Shed Experience | Rustic, Real, and Remarkably Good.”

This was our first time at Tool Shed Brewing Company, a spot my wife found on Google Maps. To be honest, as we drove through that industrial stretch at night, I started wondering, “Are we in the right place?” Then—boom—there it was. The glowing Tool Shed sign, the parking lot full, laughter spilling out the door. Always a good sign.

Inside? Rustic. Canadian. Real. The kind of place where no one’s trying too hard—they just are what they are. Wooden tables, good music, BBQ in the air, and that warm, hometown feel.

At first, I thought, “Is this family-friendly?” We had our 11-year-old with us. But then I spotted a few little ones running around, and I thought, “Alright, we’re good.” Turns out, Tool Shed isn’t just for the craft beer crowd—it’s for real people, families, and anyone who enjoys good food and a relaxed, welcoming vibe.

The Service: Outstanding. The ladies working that night were friendly, confident, and attentive. Our server Brandy was a gem—sweet, sharp, and clearly a pro. Another staff member (long dark hair) was just as kind and aware. You could tell they actually enjoy serving people.

The Food: We ordered the three-meat platter—brisket, pulled pork, and those sweet pork bits (whatever they’re called, they should come with a warning label). It came with coleslaw, pickled veggies, cornbread waffles, and maple butter. Our son had the pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese.

Now here’s the honest bit: our platter arrived a little below warm. At first, I thought, “That’s not ideal.” But then I noticed what was happening behind us—a huge gathering in the back, music, laughter, trays of food flying out nonstop. They were busy. And suddenly, it all made sense.

And honestly? Once I took that first bite, all was forgiven. The brisket melted, the pulled pork was spot on, and that Nashville-style sauce—let’s just say if they sold it by the bottle, I’d be their first customer.

The Atmosphere: friendly, local, and alive. You can feel the heartbeat of small business here—hardworking people, real food, real smiles. There’s something sacred about that kind of authenticity.

So here’s my take:
If you’re looking for something fancy or pretentious, this isn’t your place.
But if you’re after authentic BBQ, honest hospitality, and the kind of place that feels like community, you’ve found it.

Tool Shed, you’ve earned my respect—and probably my next family dinner, too. Keep the fires burning (literally, maybe just a touch hotter next time 😄), and keep doing what you’re doing.

Real people. Real food. Real joy.
