Decent pool for lane swim. Chlorine smell is pretty heavy because of the high usage. Sauna seems to always be busy. Change rooms are cramped during busy times. Saw floaty bandaides at the bottom of the pool. Stoked they’re moving to a new location soon.
They charge double the price if you’re not resident of the area. Lockers are broken and a very tiny hot tub. Penticton pool and recreation area are so much bigger and better but doesn’t over charge for non residents.
I recently moved to Vernon, and I was honestly surprised that there is only one main public recreation facility available for the community. What’s more concerning is that it is frequently occupied by competitions or special programs, which significantly limits public access.
There does not seem to be clear or proactive announcements about these schedule changes, making it difficult for residents to plan ahead. I have visited five times and was only able to access the facility once.
When I did manage to enter, the space was extremely crowded. The pool and hot tub were very full, mostly with children, and the noise level was quite high. It did not feel like there was adequate space or time allocated for general adult use.
I hope the city considers improving scheduling transparency and expanding access for regular public use, as the demand clearly exceeds the current capacity.
Very fun pump track along with some dirt jump above (left trail) and small but fast and fun single track.
Great structure for sports and entertainment, specially during winter when it is not easy to find activities with our kids
