West Coast River Lodge is a beautiful venue in Port Alberni! As a photographer, I’ve photographed a few weddings here and I always enjoy photographing all across their property. The main house has amazing large windows for natural light during getting ready photos, the forest grove where ceremonies are hosted has an incredible serene green landscape with lots of different angles possible to truly get a 360 documentation, and the pool is an added bonus.

There’s also on-site accommodations which makes it perfect for couples wanting to host more of their guests at the venue (more hotels/airbnbs are available nearby too).

Cannot wait to photograph more celebrations here!

Gorgeous venue for a wedding. Had such an enjoyable time. Amazing view of the river with endless fish jumping. Stunning yard for a ceremony. Clean and heated pool, with a nice hot tub. Some of the rooms needed some TLC, and the towel situation for a large group was limited. Besides those two very minor points this is a nearly flawless place for a wedding, family reunion, or a company retreat.

I was here for a Women’s retreat and this place is nothing short of amazing. I had been told about West Coast River Lodge and how beautiful it was but being here is a whole new appreciation for how accommodating it is for a large group.

There was 25 women and we all had our own space to explore on our own as well as common rooms that we’d come together for workshops & team work

The “cigar room” was by far my favourite closed in outdoor space with a real wood burning fireplace, accent lights, and cozy couches to relax and enjoy the sound of the river just steps away. (Where there’s salmon jumping often)

The attention to detail is what truly makes this space incredibly special. The bedrooms, the bathrooms and each room had a warm feeling that leaves you wanting to return.

The ample space on the deck accommodated all of us laying down for a sound bath under a full moon.

I will 100% be coming back to West coast lodge for events.

West Coast River Lodge is an absolutely beautiful getaway. You, your family, couples or groups will have an opportunity to experience whatever you are in the mood for. Whether it is relaxing by the pool or hot tub, maybe it is hiking to beautiful lookouts or taking in some of the best fishing in Canada. It’s all here and all basically in your back yard. In all my travels I’ve never experienced so much that is to offer without having to travel miles and miles from where I’m staying. What makes this place 5 stars is the owners/operators, they are truly wonderful people. Highly recommend and will be back.

I stayed at West Coast River Lodge and it exceeded my expectations. The property is incredible, located right in the river. We watched salmon swimming upstream and fishermen trying to catch them. The accommodation was fantastic with the main lodge, swimming pool and hot tub and multiple out buildings. I highly recommend staying here for any large event!
